Why Produce in America

The USA — The World's Most Versatile Production Market

No other country on earth offers the geographic, cultural, and infrastructure diversity of the United States as a production backdrop. From desert landscapes to Atlantic coastlines, from mountain ranges to world-class urban canyons — the USA delivers every visual language a global brand could require, often within a single state.

The United States is the undisputed center of the global film and video production industry. Hollywood, Nashville, and New York form a post-production triangle that sets the technical standard for the world. When European and Latin American brands want to produce content that carries authority, prestige, and global market credibility, they film in America.

For international companies, the production value-per-dollar equation in the USA is compelling — particularly for European brands benefiting from favorable EUR/USD or GBP/USD exchange rates. A budget that produces a competent commercial in Western Europe can produce a genuinely world-class campaign in the United States, with premium crew, stunning locations, and broadcast-ready deliverables included.

America's crew infrastructure is second to none. In our seven hub cities, we draw from deep rosters of experienced directors of photography, gaffers, sound mixers, production designers, drone operators, and casting directors — all available on short notice, all familiar with international production standards, and all working at rates that make sense for global budgets.

English is the default language of global business communication, and producing content in the USA gives your brand the English-language authenticity that domestic markets in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and Canada immediately recognize. Combined with our trilingual (EN/ES/PT) crew capability across all seven US cities, international brands gain a production partner who speaks their language — literally.

The post-production ecosystem reinforces every decision to produce in the USA. Color grading houses in Hollywood, sound mixing studios in Nashville, motion graphics studios in New York and Los Angeles — the finishing infrastructure that turns good footage into exceptional content is concentrated in our US market in a way that does not exist anywhere else on earth.

Where We Operate

Seven Cities.
One Production Partner.

01
Miami — Headquarters
Our home base. The gateway city for Latin American and European brands entering the US market. South Beach, Brickell, Wynwood, and the Everglades — all within 30 miles. Direct international flights from 60+ countries. Fully bilingual English/Spanish creative team on staff.
02
New York City
Finance, fashion, culture, and the most recognized urban skyline on earth. From Midtown glass towers to Brooklyn brownstones, from Wall Street to SoHo boutiques — New York delivers every brand register imaginable. The city international brands most want to shoot in.
03
Los Angeles
The entertainment capital of the world. Hollywood Hills, Santa Monica Beach, Venice canals, Malibu cliffs, and the deep crew infrastructure of the film industry's historic home. Ideal for lifestyle, entertainment, tech, and beauty brands seeking California's distinctive visual language.
04
Chicago
America's architectural crown jewel on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Chicago Loop, Riverwalk, and surrounding neighborhoods offer a Midwest corporate gravitas that resonates with European brands. A significant financial and food industry production market with excellent crew rates.
05
Houston
The energy capital of the United States and one of the most ethnically diverse cities in America. Ideal for energy sector, corporate, and industrial video productions. Southern hospitality, wide-open Texas landscapes, and a city on the rise as a major US production market.
06
Austin
The fastest-growing major city in the USA. Tech campuses, live music venues, natural swimming holes, and the SXSW cultural ecosystem combine to make Austin the preferred city for brands targeting younger, culture-forward American audiences. A creative production market that punches above its weight.
07
Orlando
Theme parks, tourism, Florida sunshine, and one of America's most visited destinations. Beyond the parks, Orlando offers diverse residential environments, nature preserves, and a booming convention market. A strategic hub for hospitality, tourism, and family brand productions in the American Southeast.
European Brands & Agencies

From London to LA —
We Bridge Two Continents

Caldera Films operates across the USA and Europe under a single creative roof. We understand what European brands need — not just logistically, but aesthetically and culturally — when they choose to produce content in America.

Time Zone Management. The six-to-nine-hour gap between European and US time zones is one of the most frequently cited challenges for transatlantic productions. Caldera Films solves this structurally. We schedule client review calls at times that work for European business hours, provide Frame.io review links for asynchronous feedback, and assign a dedicated European-hours contact point for every international production. You never wait until the US morning opens to get an answer.

Technical Standards Compliance. We deliver to European broadcast specifications by default on request — including BBC, ARD, ZDF, France Télévisions, and RAI technical delivery requirements. Our colorists and online editors are fluent in HDTV 1080i 25fps, 4K UHD 2160p 25fps, and all EBU-compliant audio loudness standards. Your US-shot content will pass technical review at European broadcasters without remediation.

VAT and International Production Finance. We work with international production attorneys and accountants to structure contracts correctly for cross-border productions. We issue invoices in USD, EUR, or GBP as required, and we guide clients through the relevant withholding tax and VAT considerations for service purchases from a US production company. No surprises in your accounting department.

Iconic American Locations for European Markets. European audiences have an insatiable appetite for the American visual lexicon — the New York skyline, the California coast, the neon of Las Vegas, the grandeur of the American Southwest. European lifestyle, fashion, automotive, and luxury brands regularly produce US content to amplify their brand's global reach. We are the expert in finding and securing exactly the American backdrop that your European brand campaign requires.

Europe + USA Co-Production. Caldera Films maintains production partnerships and crew networks in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Barcelona. International brands can commission a single campaign to be shot simultaneously or sequentially in the USA and Europe — same director, same creative vision, one production partner, one invoice. This is one of our most valued capabilities among European advertising agencies managing multinational campaigns.

Our European Presence. We are not a US company with no knowledge of European market realities. We have produced in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Spain. We understand European agency workflows, local production regulations, and the cultural nuances that make content resonate with European audiences.

Latin American Brands & Agencies

De Miami a Hollywood —
Tu Socio de Producción en los Estados Unidos

Miami is the de facto capital of Latin America's relationship with the United States. Every major LATAM city — São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Mexico City, Lima, Santiago — has direct flights to Miami International Airport. When Latin American companies want to film in the USA, they start in Miami, and Caldera Films is Miami's production company.

Spanish-Speaking Crew Across All 7 Cities
Every Caldera Films city hub includes Spanish-speaking directors, producers, and coordinators. LATAM clients are never navigating a language barrier during production. We conduct briefings, shot reviews, and client communications fully in Spanish when preferred. / En todas las ciudades contamos con directores, productores y coordinadores que hablan español.
Understanding of LATAM Brand Culture
We have produced for brands from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Venezuela. We understand the aesthetic sensibilities, storytelling traditions, and quality benchmarks that LATAM brands bring to a production. We don't impose an American production style — we adapt to your brand's DNA.
US Visa & O-1 Guidance for Visiting Talent
LATAM talent appearing in US productions may require a B-1 business visa or an O-1 extraordinary ability visa. Caldera Films works with specialist immigration attorneys and can provide the official production invitation letters, project documentation, and supporting materials that facilitate visa applications. We cannot provide legal advice, but we can make the process as smooth as possible.
Co-Production USA + LATAM
Through our network of partner production companies and our own in-country experience, Caldera Films can produce your campaign simultaneously in the USA and across Latin America — Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, and beyond. One brief, one creative director, two continents. Una visión, dos continentes.
Iconic American Backdrops for LATAM Markets
American visual icons — Times Square, Hollywood, South Beach, the Chicago skyline — carry massive aspirational weight in Latin American consumer markets. LATAM brands regularly produce US content to elevate their brand equity and signal international standing to their home market consumers. We know exactly how to capture these locations at their most powerful.
International Wire Transfers & USD Invoicing
We accept international wire transfers in USD, and we understand the documentation requirements for international payment compliance in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. International Production Questions

Frequently Asked Questions —
International Clients Filming in the USA

For most European and Latin American nationals, a B-1 Business Visitor visa (or ESTA for Visa Waiver Program countries) is appropriate for traveling to the USA to supervise or observe a production where you are not performing compensated work on US soil. Citizens of EU member states, the UK, and many other countries qualify for ESTA, which allows visits of up to 90 days without a formal visa. For on-camera talent who will be featured in a production, an O-1 Extraordinary Ability visa or a P visa may be required. Caldera Films works with specialist US immigration attorneys and can provide official production invitation letters, project descriptions, and supporting documentation to facilitate your visa application. We cannot provide legal advice — always consult a qualified immigration attorney for your specific situation.
Yes — this is one of our core international service offerings. Caldera Films has production experience and partner networks in 14+ countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. We regularly produce campaigns that shoot across multiple countries under a single creative director and a single production agreement. This ensures consistent creative vision, consistent technical quality, and dramatically simplified client management. You deal with one point of contact, one contract, and one production philosophy — regardless of how many countries your campaign spans.
Caldera Films invoices in US Dollars (USD) as standard, with EUR and GBP invoicing available for European clients upon request. We accept international wire transfers (SWIFT/IBAN) and ACH payments. Our production contracts are governed by US law and are structured to work with international accounting and compliance requirements. For Brazilian clients, we can provide the NF-e equivalent documentation required by Brazilian fiscal authorities. For Argentine clients operating under AFIP regulations, we provide the additional documentation required for international service payments. We recommend clients consult their own legal and tax advisors regarding the treatment of US production expenses in their home jurisdiction.
Film permitting in the USA is managed at the city and county level rather than federally. Each of our seven hub cities has its own film office and permitting process — Miami-Dade Film Office, Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment in New York, FilmLA, Chicago Film Office, Houston Film Commission, Austin Film Office, and the City of Orlando's Office of Business and Neighborhood Services. Caldera Films manages the complete permitting process across all jurisdictions as a standard part of our full-service production package. As a foreign company commissioning a US production, you do not need to engage directly with US permit offices — we handle everything on your behalf using our established relationships and existing insurer relationships for production general liability coverage.
Yes. Spanish-speaking directors, producers, and production coordinators are available in all seven of our US hub cities. Miami, where Caldera Films is headquartered, is America's most bilingual major city, and our entire Miami team operates natively in both English and Spanish. In New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Austin, and Orlando, we maintain Spanish-speaking crew relationships that ensure LATAM clients have fluent Spanish communication on set and throughout production management. For Brazilian clients, we also have Portuguese-speaking production coordinators in Miami and can source Portuguese-language capability in other cities when required.
The answer depends on your brand's visual language and target narrative. Los Angeles is the default choice for luxury lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and automotive brands — California light, Pacific Ocean backdrops, and the cultural cachet of Hollywood are powerful assets. New York is unmatched for financial services, fashion, urban energy, and any brand that wants the most recognized skyline on earth. Miami is the ideal choice for lifestyle, hospitality, wellness, and Latin-influenced luxury brands — plus the convenience of direct transatlantic flights from London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Madrid. Chicago is compelling for architecture, food, and corporate brands seeking a distinctly American but less globally overexposed backdrop. We are happy to present detailed location comparisons for any brief during an initial consultation.
We manage the transatlantic time zone gap through a combination of structural and technological solutions. In pre-production, all review calls are scheduled to fall within European working hours (we use 9am–12pm CET as our default European review window, which corresponds to 3am–6am ET in Miami — our team members managing international accounts adjust their schedules accordingly). During production days, we provide a live remote monitoring stream that European clients can access from their own offices, and we post a same-day edited highlight review within 4 hours of wrap (timed to arrive during the European business morning). In post-production, Frame.io review links allow asynchronous feedback at any time, so you are never blocked waiting for a US business day to begin. Our international production clients consistently cite our time zone management as one of our most valued operational strengths.
Yes, with the right visa category and sufficient lead time. LATAM talent appearing on camera in a US production — actors, models, athletes, musicians — will typically require an O-1A or O-1B visa (for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement in their field) or a P-1 visa (for internationally recognized athletes and entertainment groups). The timeline for O-1 and P-1 visa processing with USCIS standard processing is typically 3–6 months; premium processing (15 business days) is available for an additional filing fee. Caldera Films provides the official employer/petitioner documentation, an invitation letter on company letterhead, detailed production schedule documentation, and coordination with our specialist immigration attorney partners. We strongly recommend initiating the visa process as early as possible — ideally 4–6 months before the planned shoot date for LATAM talent who will need to appear on US soil.
